Handmade Dolls Made
By Wilma
When my very dear friend, Marlene introduced me to Porcelain Dollmaking, I told her I was not interested. I did not want, nor need another hobby. I had enough irons in the fire. She said, "Oh, Wilma........Just make ONE!!"
Well, I now have molds for 46 dolls, bought a kiln, and teach two classes a week in my home!!! So much for my determination not to get a new hobby!!!
I am just going to show you some of the dolls I have made, and if you are interested in buying any of them, please e-mail me at [email protected]. If I have already sold the doll you like, I will take a special order. Please e-mail me for prices also........it is just too much to put on the page, and my pages are becoming sooooooo long the way it is!!! I have many more dolls than you will see on this page, and if anyone wants a more detailed list, just let me know and I will send it to you. As I get pictures of more of them, I will load them onto this page. I have lots of scanning to do!
This is Aaron, who is a 21" doll, originally a boy, but made here as a girl. The sculptor is Dianna Effner. I put porcelain legs on her, but they are not on the original doll. The original has cloth legs. I also used different arms than come with the original doll. The highchair was made by my son (Thad) for me for my birthday last year (1998). Cute, huh???? I also have this doll in a 16" mold..........very cute!! Also extremely cute made up as a Native American doll, or as an Afro-American!
This has been an all time favorite of my doll students.

Bailey is a 24" doll, sculpted by Donna Rubert. She is very pretty also made up as a Native American doll. She can be made standing or sitting as I have her below.
24" Bailey sitting
Hannah Rose is also another doll sculpted by Donna Rubert. She is a 28" doll, and can be standing or sitting. She has been a real favorite among my doll students.
Jenny is a 19" doll, and her sculptor is Rose Pinkul. I have 6 or 7 of Rose's molds....but not pictures of them all scanned and completed yet.

This is Poppy, another Rose Pinkul sculpture. She is also 19" tall, and has been another favorite.
This is another Rose Pinkul sculpture. Her name is Robin, and she is exquisite. When I made her, my Grandson Andrew said, "Look Nana! She looks just like my Mommy!"

Sugar Britches and Good Morning Sugar Britches.
The sculptor is Boots Tyner, and these dolls are 19" infant dolls. They have cloth bodies. The only porcelain on them is their heads and their hands. They are wonderful beginner dolls for my doll students. I have sold several of these dolls. They are adorable!
By the way, my son Thad made the crib for me.
This is the 24" Liz, sculpted by Donna Rubert. She can be made sitting or standing. She has been a very popular doll. This doll is not one that I made, but is Sandy's, one of my doll students. See what a wonderful job my girls do???
The fabric for the clothing was ordered from Scotland, and is their family plaid; as was also the crest. She did a lovely job on this doll. Her mother did the sewing for her. It was a gift for her sister.
This is Tibby, sculpted by Donna Rubert. She is a 24" toddler doll, and can be made sitting or standing.
I think she would also be cute as a Native American or as an Afro-American.
Full Shot of Tibby
This is the 24" Chyna, sculpted by Donna Rubert. She is exquisite. Again, she can be standing or sitting. And again, she would be adorable made up as a Native American.
I guess I just had to throw in an undressed doll for you to see how they are made. These are both Donna Rubert sculptures, and the standing one is Chyna as a toddler, and the sitting one is Bernadette. They are both 24" dolls, and the body parts are interchangeable. (Standing, sitting, etc.)
Can't you just see the Toddler Chyna made as a Native American or as an Afro-American?
I still don't have the Chyna toddler dressed, but she soon will be!!
24" Bernadette sculpted by Donna Rubert........

I will be adding more photos of dolls as I get them scanned.
